In order to use the Kira platform, you'll need to have a working front-facing camera with your desktop/laptop. Please note that platform is not supported on tablets (including Microsoft Surface Pro or iPad) and there are no mobile apps available at this time.
To get started with webcam setup, check to make sure that your browser is updated and that you have installed and enabled the latest version of Adobe Flash. To learn how to download, install, or enable Adobe Flash see our FAQ article here.
Follow these steps to set up your webcam in the Device Setup stage:
1. During Device Setup, you should receive a prompt that "app.kiratalent.com wants to use your camera and microphone" > Choose "Allow" (the permission notification might look different depending on the browser you are using).
2. If you are using Chrome, the Adobe Flash Player Settings permission box will appear in your recorder screen. In the permission box, click the buttons for ”Allow" and "Remember" . *If you don't see the box pop-up, see the bottom note.
3. At this point, your webcam should start and you should be able to see yourself in the recorder screen. If you do not see yourself, check to make sure you have the right webcam selected. In the permissions box, click on the small webcam tab > Choose the correct camera view from the drop down menu > Click "X" to close the box.
*Note: If you've already closed the permission box or if the settings box does not pop up automatically..
You can open up your settings box by right-clicking inside the recorder screen > Click "Settings".
